INSIDE PASSAGE ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE HAS AN IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR A STAFF ACCOUNTANT
1. Reconcile various subsidiary accounts as assigned.
2. Assist with general ledger entries, work orders, inventory and fixed asset accounting, and PCE.
3. Approve and proof accounts payable check runs to ensure accuracy of coding, and proper approval prior to payment.
4. Assist with monthly sales tax filings.
5. Develop working knowledge of RUS accounting procedures and processes.
6. Assist with work order construction transactions, retirements, property records and inventory controls.
7. Assist in researching work orders and capitalizing/closing work orders to plant.
8. Assist with financial audits and other financial processes.
9. Assist with month-end/year-end closing, audits and filings as needed.
10. Assist with capital credit allocations.
11. Back up for billing, taking payments, helping customers with new accounts.
12. Help with annual meeting.
13. Other duties as assigned.
WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Work is performed primarily indoors, sitting at a desk. The position is required to operate a company vehicle at times. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, business administration or finance. Two to five years of accounting experience desired. Background in an electric utility a plus. Familiar with RUS accounting desirable. This is a full time benefited position.
