Title: Family Services Coordinator

Reports To: Executive Director

Date Prepared: 2/06/19

Status: Part-Time; 10-20 hour per week

Compensation: $17/hour

AGENCY SUMMARY:

Family Promise is a community response to families experiencing homelessness by providing hospitality in area congregations. Guests receive hospitality and three meals a day from church members and volunteers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate consistent high-level performance in a manner that enhances the method of service delivery, which is driven by individual guest and family needs rather than by specific program goals.

• Assist in the delivery of services to guest families by supporting the organization of host congregations through volunteer management, development, and training

• Perform administrative duties necessary to the function of the organization

• Manage workflow and workload assignments.

• Develop, monitor, and evaluate all program self-sufficiency plans, outputs, and outcomes to ensure goals are met.

• Participate in a highly collaborative partnership, in which choices are identified as well as consequences and self-sufficiency plans are developed and monitored on a frequent basis. Contact with guests should occur no less than weekly based on acuity.

• Track data for service recipients.

• Process referrals from other service providers.

• Develop and maintain a strong knowledge base of community resources.

• Develop and maintain relationships with other self-sufficiency programming such as education, employment support and health care.

• Advocate for clients with services providers, agencies, and in the community.

• Represent and interpret the mission and work of the agency to the community.

• Identify and maintain a working knowledge of critical issues and trends in family self-sufficiency and economic security issues for low-income individuals.

• Develop and maintain relationships with Family Promise network.

• Work to maintain appropriate staffing at the Day Center for guest use

• Drive Family Promise van when volunteers are not available

• Additional availability and responsibility when Executive Director is out of town

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Establish highly effective relationships with guests, community agencies, and volunteers.

• Assess client needs and respond based upon Individual Self-Sufficiency Plans.

• Utilize a Strengths-Based Case Management model in working with vulnerable populations.

• Maintain confidentiality of all clients. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in record keeping.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• A passion for the mission of Family Promise.

• Degree in Social Service required ( would consider someone with work history in the social service field)

• Experience in the social service field required.

• Must be willing to live by the agency’s values, where we are called to show love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self-control and joy.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and respect people from a variety of social, economic and ethnic backgrounds

• Ability to establish appropriate boundaries

• Training in Trauma-Informed Care

• Ability to work in a team setting

• Ability to manage multiple tasks

• Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable car and vehicle insurance

• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION MEASURES:

• Maintain compliance of funding agreements and grant reporting

• Timely and accurate completion of paperwork requirements for contractors, funding sources and other departments of the organization

• Monitored and appropriate staff productivity and effectiveness
