Cox Environmental Services seeks an Environmental Scientist.
Job Requirements
Generate technical scopes of work, cost estimates, and client proposals.
Coordinate with clients and manage outside subcontractors.
Knowledge of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) and Federal Guidance, Rules and Regulations.
Prepare Sampling & Analysis Plans (SAPs) and Site Investigation Reports (SIRs) in accordance with ADEC Rules and Regulations.
Oversee, manage, and conduct field activities, including drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, and Underground storage tank (UST) closures & excavations.
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Conduct Due Diligence Evaluations including Transaction Screens, Phase I, and Phase II ESAs in accordance with ASTM Standards.
Prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Categorical Exclusions (CE) and Environmental Assessments (EA).
Ownership of full project life from proposal generation to project close-out and invoicing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with regard to writing technical reports. Ability to work autonomously.
This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to travel and mobilize to project locations throughout Southeast Alaska and perform work during all weather conditions.
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training.
AUTOCAD and/or GPS and GIS experience preferred, but not necessary.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from accredited university in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
A minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, including Phase II Subsurface Investigations/Site Investigations and/or other sampling projects.
