Full-Time Seasonal Position; May 1st - Sept 23rd

Duties: Jayleen’s Alaska requires captains who are safe, dependable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused. Your main responsibilities will be to provide a safe, informative, upbeat, whale watching tour. To achieve this, you will be independently working on a 6-passenger whale-watching boat and transporting passengers to and from cruise ship docks in our small company vans - with periotic check-ins from other employees and/or management throughout the day. On a day-to-day basis, you will be expected to ensure that your company vehicle & vessel are clean.

Minimum Qualifications:

USCG Six-Pack captain license, upon inside passages

Work experience in tourism

Verbal communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to create a welcoming environment for a group of diverse individuals

Commitment to lifelong learning

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating boats in Southeast Alaska

Experience reading GPS, Radar & using VHS Radios

Knowledge or formal education of marine wildlife

25-Ton Masters captain license (or higher)

Conditions of Employment:

Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Alaska & the United States

Satisfactory criminal records check and clean random drug test record (per USCG captain license requirement)

Valid driver’s license

Maintain clean driving & captaining record to remain insurable

Position open until filled

Starting Hourly Wage: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour - BOE
