The Schwab Cybersecurity Services (SCS) organization is a centralized Center of Excellence (COE) that provides security services to advance Schwab's security posture and enhance the protection of Schwab's critical assets.

The Data Protection Risk Engineering (DPRE) team within SCS supports Schwab's dedication to safeguarding information and computing resources through the solid cyber and technology risk data engineering.

In this role you will be responsible for building data architectures that enable customer to successfully manage and evaluate Risk to software applications. You will lead, identify and implement enterprise- wide cyber metrics platforms for both on-prem and cloud solutions. You will evaluate security and business tools, designing and implementing solutions used to provide actionable insights to identify opportunities to reduce cybersecurity risk and improve operational excellence

What you are good at

• Strong development skills, with in-depth knowledge of data engineering, data modeling, data visualization, and reporting software.
• Responsible for finding trends in data sets and developing algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the enterprise. This IT role requires a significant set of technical skills, including a deep knowledge of SQL database design and multiple programming languages.
• Understand how to optimize data retrieval and how to develop dashboards, reports, and other visualizations for stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively
• Ability to convert legacy reporting from disparate data sources into automated real time metrics with full dimensionality leveraging automation for near real-time measurements
• Ability to work in an Agile work environment to manage and prioritize tasks
• Apply quantitative data analysis techniques and methods
• Proactively lead investigation and resolution efforts for critical/high impact problems, defects, and incidents
• Design and administer data access policies and procedures

What you have

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with data management from extraction at the data source to transformation, loading and designing interactive dashboards using agile visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, SAP Business Objects, Alteryx, PowerBI etc.) visualization, is preferred
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity risk management, is preferred
• 1+ year of designing, building, and supporting data processing pipelines to transform data in Big Data, Cloud Platforms (Google Cloud Platform, AWS), is preferred
• Lead multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize time with minimal supervision, is preferred
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions, is preferred
• Expertise in schema design, developing data models and proven ability to work with complex data and transformation (ELT) of data from a wide variety of databases, platforms, and APIs, is preferred
• Proven track-record of solving complex data processing and storage challenges through scalable, fault-tolerant architecture, is preferred
• An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Management, or related field, is preferred
• Knowledge of best practices for building Data Lake and analytical architecture on Hadoop, is a plus
• Expertise in the research, development, and support of data visualization techniques and cybersecurity metrics
• Understanding of security control frameworks such as NIST, CIS controls, COBIT, ISO etc., is a plus
• Hands-on experience scripting / programming with UNIX, Java, Python, Scala etc., is a plus
• Hands-on experience with SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services, and SQL Server Integration Services (No-SQL experience is a plus)
• One or more of the following certifications preferred: CompTIA Sec+, CISM, CISSP, CRISC and / or CISA is a plus
• Build run and maintain data pipelines utilizing Google Cloud Platform including Big Query, Cloud Composer, Storage, Encryption and various APIs and SDKs with python is a plus
