ICF is adding staff to its Western US energy practice to support a wide range of Electrification and Energy Efficiency programs. Our clients include utilities, recognizable Fortune 500 global corporations, as well as a variety of industry and Government organizations.We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to support our Arizona based utility client meet their C&I electrification goals and provide engineering management support for multiple Western US Distributed Energy Resources (DER) program offerings. You will be managing a group of engineers that support various technical functions for our programs and working with the ICF Arizona utility program implementation team to identify C&I electrification opportunities and electrification projects from origination through to post installation measurement and verification (M&V)Why you will love working here:

What you will be doing:

Manage an engineering team.

Oversee the work quality from that team, including calculated project reviews, tools development, white papers, etc.

Conduct walk-through electrification assessments for Arizona C&I facilities.

Develop strategies to improve the quality of program projects and deliverables.

Manage budgets, people, and subcontractors to meet financial targets.

Proactively develop and implement solutions to meet changing market needs.

Track and report status to ICF management.

Continue to enhance and expand ICF’s DER practice throughout the Western US.

Provide technical support and guidance on technologies and practices that replace carbon-based fueled power with electrical power.

Perform technical calculations or utilize market and/or technical studies to quantify the pre-electrification baseline fuel consumption of potential electrification projects and the predicted post electrification loads.

Conduct prescriptive and custom engineering reviews of energy load calculations on proposed C&I electrification projects.

Conduct post installation site inspections to verify installation and operation program rebated equipment.

Provide technical support to program account managers with customer and trade ally outreach.

What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences or a related field.

5+ years of technical experience in Energy Efficiency and/or Electrification, including experience with project development, project review, performing engineering calculations and/or data analysis.

3+ years of experience developing and managing successful engineering teams.

What we would like you to have:

Masters’s Degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences or a related field.

Industry certifications, professional affiliations such as Professional Engineer License and/or CEM certification.

3+ years experience in electrification.

3+ years of experience with California energy regulatory policy including efficiency programs and building/equipment energy codes including Title 20 and Title 24. 

Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional teams to achieve high levels of production, meet tight deadlines, and deliver compliant quality work products.

Demonstrated experience with whole building energy modeling including Energy Plus, EnergyPro and/or eQuest.

Familiarity with using TRMs and/or the California eTRM. 

Demonstrated familiarity writing and executing M&V plans to document baseline and measure case conditions.

Demonstrated experience with the technical aspects of custom, prescriptive, NMEC, SEM, electrification and/or DER programs.

Professional skills you will use:

Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and quality assurance/control theories, techniques, and application.
