Behavioral Health Tech- Substance Abuse Specialist

Job Overview: We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and experienced Behavioral Health Technician specializing in substance abuse to provide direct care and support to clients in our program. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in the behavioral health field, specifically working with individuals struggling with substance abuse. You will play a crucial role in assisting clients with their recovery goals, monitoring their progress, updating treatment plans, and providing support through various therapeutic and behavioral interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

-Provide direct support and care to clients dealing with substance abuse issues, including individual and group sessions.

-Implement and monitor treatment plans under the guidance of clinical staff.

-Assist in managing and documenting client progress, behavior, and any incidents.

-Facilitate therapeutic activities and support groups to promote recovery and personal growth.

-Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive client care.

-Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times, including managing any crises or emergencies.

-Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.

-Protect and maintain the confidentiality of resident records and information, by maintaining HIPAA compliance

-Planning lessons, activities and group events.

-Collaborating with other staff members to execute job duties

Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or GED is required.

-Minimum of 4 years of experience working as a Behavioral Health Technician or in a similar role, with a focus on substance abuse treatment.

-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong written skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, and work effectively within a team.

-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

-Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

-HIPAA compliant

-Peer Support Certification.

-Able to grasp a general working knowledge of clinical record management systems.

-Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check
