Job Summary:
Generate purchase orders / request for quotes for all materials related to the manufacture of parts, assemblies, components and equipment related to the automotive, defense, aerospace and other precision manufacturing. This candidate needs to be highly detail oriented and be able to work in within demanding timelines. He or she must be a problem solver that works well with little supervision and possess excellent follow up skills. Previous experience in procurement of metals is a must.
Functions:
- Generate purchase orders for metal, plastic, supplies and raw material pertaining to each specific job requirement
- Negotiate best pricing with vendors
- Respond to customer requests
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings a plus
- Process RMA’s, follow up with Corrective Actions
- Manage material lead times in conjunction with manufacturing due dates
- Resolve issues related to the terms and conditions of the purchase order (cost, quality, delivery lead time, damage claims etc.)
- Work cooperatively in a team environment
- Experience with Word, Excel, World Ship, Made to Manage or similar electronic software required
- Work with outside vendor processing: Heat treat, metal finishing, NDT
- Other Manufacturing and office related tasks as needed
