We are a Glendale CNC machine shop, seeking a Shop Supervisor for second shift – 3:30pm – 2:00 am, Monday through Thursday with possible overtime on Fridays. This is a salaried position with full benefits.
The Second Shift Shop Supervisor will not only supervise the second shift, but will also set up and run jobs as needed. The person will be responsible for personnel actions and overseeing day to day operations of the shift. The successful candidate must have experience and skills running both manual and CNC mills and lathes. Wire EDM experience, experience with die maintenance both a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Must have supervisory experience and a proven record of dealing positively with employees
Interview and hire job candidates, perform worker evaluations and disciplinary actions, as well as train new employees or manage their training and match employees with specific tasks based on their skill or expertise
Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures
Assure safety procedures are followed and work station are cleaned at the end of the shift.
Help to resolve issues quickly to get production moving and meet deadlines.
Help maintain all of the shop’s equipment, or oversee the maintenance of the equipment by workers.
Create or review different documentation throughout the day including work orders, employee records, and time sheets
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five years lead or supervisory experience
Strong leadership skills, motivated, analytical and organized
Ability to read and interpret machining blueprints, use hand inspection tools, and read gauges.
Extensive experience running both manual and CNC machinery, able to set up and operate machines
Ability to communicate effectively and positively with co-workers
Experience with machining principles and the ability to evaluate and solve problems
Experience in machining to close tolerances
Experience with Auto CAD or Feature Cam; knowledge of G&M codes and GD&T
Must be a quick learner, dependable, self-motivated, and able to step in and take charge
