Summary
Maintenance Technician is responsible for fixing and maintaining a parts finishing manufacturing facility. Some equipment, compressors, and oven maintenance will be required. Simple welding on production assemblies are also produced.
Job Duties
Conduct yourself safely around equipment operations following work and safety procedures.
Works on job duties and assignments as they relate to maintenance, repair, installing, fabricating, adjusting, troubleshooting, and any other maintenance duties as needed.
Follow standards, budgets, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
Responsible for scheduled and/or performing preventive maintenance checks and departmental inventory control.
Diagnose & resolve equipment malfunctions and operating difficulties related to, but not limited to, cranes/hoists, 3 phase motors, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, HVAC units, pumps, exhaust fans, etc.
Perform mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations.
Performs start-up and shut down functions on plant equipment and facilities as required.
Responds to emergency calls as assigned.
Responsible for maintaining departmental documentation as required.
Workings safely at all times in compliance with OSHA/EPA regulations and resolves sited safety issues in a timely manner.
Participate in the handling, labeling, containment and disposal of hazardous waste.
Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
Educational and Work Experience Requirements
Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heaving carts, seasonal high temperature and humidity levels, working at heights, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing and eye protection).
Must be able to wear respiratory protection when required.
Various chemicals used in process, splash exposure near process lines.
Education/Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
Requires broad based knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, welding acquired through hands on training.
Must bring a comprehensive set of tools. Specialty tools provided.
Blueprint & schematic knowledge helpful.
Essential Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds and stoop and bend and arms and hands
Ability to alternate standing and sitting for 8 hours.
Ability to hear and see or correct to 20/20.
Ability to communicate in English both verbal and written forms.
