As a rapidly growing company, we are seeking an Operations Manager to drive our expansion into new markets and achieve our ambitious goals.
Operations Manager
The Operations Manager leads all nursery operations, requiring a passion for plants, a strong business understanding, and exceptional leadership.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Operations Manager has many responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Oversee and visit our multiple yards in Phoenix, Tonopah, and Marana weekly.
- Lead and manage a diverse group of yard employees that hold loading/unloading, vehicle and equipment maintenance, yard maintenance, and yard construction roles.
- Lead and enforce all safety guidelines and directives.
- Manage the ordering of supplies as needed for every yard.
- Actively source new materials and new vendors that offer competitive pricing.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and quality standards and conduct regular inspections and audits of the operations.
- Analyze and help identify problems and improvement opportunities and make recommendations based on findings.
- Work with the owner in recruiting, training, and evaluating the performance of the department managers, and provide them with feedback and guidance.
- Work with owners to fulfill staffing needs at each location.
- Ensure the overall cleanliness of every location, especially street views.
- Must answer phone and respond to issues at all hours of the day, including outside business hours.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the owner.
- Manage maintenance and servicing of our fleet of trucks and trailers as well as our yard and construction equipment at each location, and maintain up-to-date maintenance records.
- Ensure all equipment (including trucks, trailers, and tractors) is getting repaired promptly and update maintenance records accordingly.
Job Qualifications and Experience
- Must have a valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license with a verifiable clean driving record and the ability to be insured.
- Must have reliable transportation to commute to work.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
- A background check and pre-employment drug screening may be performed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bilingual – fluent in Spanish and English is required
- Basic computer skills are necessary
- Must be detail-oriented, reliable, responsible, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess strong time management, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Aptitude for decision-making and problem-solving
- Must demonstrate respect and professionalism with customers, vendors, and crew members
- Must have knowledge of general construction and know how to safely use miscellaneous hand and power tools
- Must be willing and able to work outdoors throughout the year as this position is primarily in the nursery
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
Schedule Expectations
- Primary hours will be during seasonal business hours. Spring/Fall 630am to 3pm. Summer 6am-230pm. Winter 7am-330pm. Hours may be modified as needed.
- This position requires regular travel between our locations. A company vehicle will be provided. The typical weekly schedule includes two days at our Tonopah yard, two days at our North Phoenix yard, and one day at our Marana yard.
- Must be willing to come in on weekends, nights, and holidays to respond to emergencies.

Pay & Benefits
- This is a full-time position with a salary range of $80k-$140k per year, based on experience.
