job summary:

If you're passionate about software development and providing great BIG data solutions, then we'd like you to join our Data Engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use the latest big data technologies and industry leading visualization tools to deliver world-class data solutions to our business partners. You will be responsible for the analysis and development of data sources, and automating the processes that drive our BI dashboards and reports. You will also build and support the platform infrastructure that enables our business to make informed decisions and get to know our customers better.


Requirements:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
• strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, commitment to team, and positive attitude.
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Experience with databases such as SQL Server and MySQL a plus.
• Experience coding in PowerShell, Python, or other languages.
• Solid Linux and Windows administration skills, and understanding of system performance (memory, CPU, disk, I/O, network I/O, etc.)
• Experience with Alation would be a big plus

responsibilities:

• Medium to Advanced knowledge of Tableau Server Configuration / Management - Manage and maintain the Tableau Distributed environment. (2-5 years)
• Knowledge of Tableau Desktop - Able to assist users with troubleshooting and guiding them on how to resolve their questions (1-2 years)
• Provide business departments with operational support around existing and newly developed data solutions and reports.
• Must be able to work with both business users (non-technical) as well as engineering team (networking / system configuration).
• Document best practices for Development and administration of the tableau Platform and provide end-user training.
• Create system monitors and automation to ensure the environment is available and performing.
• Manage Data Catalog tool (Alation - MDM), assisting users with usage of the tool as well as system configuration including setup of connections to data platforms such as MS SQL, MySQL, Teradata, and other cloud data service APIs.
