The Still is an intimate, reservation-only craft cocktail speakeasy nestled in the back of Vero Amore, our celebrated Italian restaurant. This exclusive venue transports guests back to the glamorous 1920s era, where exceptional cocktails meet theatrical presentation in an atmosphere of sophistication and mystery.
Position Overview
We are seeking a charismatic and skilled bartender to be the face and soul of The Still. This dual-role position combines expert mixology with attentive table service, creating memorable experiences for our discerning guests. You'll be responsible for crafting exceptional cocktails, serving meals, managing reservations, and embodying the speakeasy's vintage charm through both your skills and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Mixology & Service Excellence
- Craft specialty and artisanal cocktails with precision, creativity, and theatrical flair
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, bitters, and craft cocktail techniques
- Present drinks with entertainment value and storytelling elements
- Serve meals and provide attentive table service to speakeasy guests
- Maintain the highest standards of drink quality and presentation consistency
Guest Experience & Atmosphere
- Create an immersive 1920s speakeasy experience for every guest
- Engage guests with period-appropriate charm, wit, and hospitality
- Share cocktail stories, ingredient knowledge, and historical context
- Read the room and adapt service style to enhance each guest's evening
- Handle special requests and dietary restrictions with creativity and care
Operations & Administration
- Manage all reservations for The Still, including booking, confirmations, and modifications
- Maintain reservation system and optimize seating arrangements
- Ensure proper setup, breakdown, and maintenance of bar area
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management
- Adhere to all health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations
Required Qualifications
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 3-5 years of craft cocktail bartending experience
- Proven track record in high-end cocktail bars or speakeasies
- Advanced knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail techniques
- Experience with table service and food knowledge
- Strong organizational skills for reservation management

- Natural entertainer with theatrical flair and storytelling ability
- Professional appearance with commitment to 1920s aesthetic (coat & tie preferred)
- Ability to work independently in an intimate setting
- Flexibility to adapt to varying guest preferences and party sizes
Professional Standards
- Valid food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Responsible alcohol service certification (Arizona Title 4)
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to excellence
- Collaborative team player with front-of-house restaurant staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in reservation-only or intimate venue settings
- Knowledge of prohibition-era cocktails and speakeasy history
- Culinary knowledge to effectively serve and describe Italian cuisine
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) a plus
- Previous experience in themed or concept restaurants
