Argus Machine is seeking a CNC Machinist to set-up/operate CNC machine and use existing programming to produce tools and parts to dimensional requirements. Argus is a growing precision machine shop (AS9100 certified) that manufactures components for multiple local industries. The ideal candidate will possess several years of CNC set-up experience, some exposure to CNC programming, and attributes of a dependable self-starter as this individual will at times work under indirect supervision.
Top candidates will have exceptional critical thinking, time management and communication skills, an ability to handle complex parts and tools, a good problem solver, detail oriented, and a willingness to lead by example in the workplace.
Responsibilities:
Reviewing job routing/data packages and drawing to gain a thorough understanding of requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings. Knowledge of GD&T a must.
Measure and mark raw materials needed to manufacture parts. (Understanding of material properties and characteristics a plus.)
Set-up equipment and tools required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan.
Ability to set-up 4- axis/5- axis mills a plus.
Operate the equipment to carry out each step correctly. Monitor and adjust machine controls manually if programming proves inaccurate or machine is malfunctioning.
Maintain machine operations, coolant levels, and replace dull cutting tools.
Complete In process inspection sheets by possessing a working knowledge of various measuring gages: micrometers, pin gages, dial indicator, screw pitch gage, height gage, comparator stand/gage, etc.
Interact effectively with customers, peers, management, manufacturing personnel, and both technical and non-technical people.
Experience with HAAS machines.
Must comply with all safety regulations.
References must be available and will be checked.
Must be able to pass the drug test.
