Description We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team at a leading commercial distributor. As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the collections process, ensuring timely and accurate collection of outstanding accounts receivable balances. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in collections management.Responsibilities:Manage Collections Process:

Monitor and review accounts receivable aging reports regularly to identify delinquent accounts.

Initiate collections activities for overdue accounts through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collections efforts and interactions with customers.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as sales and customer service teams, to resolve payment issues and address customer concerns.

Payment Follow-up:

Contact customers proactively to discuss payment options and negotiate suitable repayment plans.

Escalate collection issues to the appropriate management level when necessary.

Provide accurate and timely updates on outstanding balances and collection efforts to internal stakeholders.

Dispute Resolution:

Investigate and resolve customer billing discrepancies or disputes in a timely manner.

Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to ensure prompt resolution of disputes, maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Customer Relationship Management:

Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing excellent customer service during the collections process.

Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding collections inquiries, providing accurate and helpful information.

Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare regular collections reports, analyzing trends and identifying areas for improvement.

Provide recommendations for process enhancements and assist in implementing approved changes to optimize collections efficiency.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience in collections management, preferably within a commercial distribution environment.

Excellent knowledge of collections laws, regulations, and best practices.

Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with customers.

Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
