The Promotions Director for KMYX-Bakersfield, CA proactively manages all the Marketing and Promotion activities for KMYX. Responsibilities: Develop and execute the Quarterly Marketing Strategy for KMYX. Work monthly to track expenses and adhere to expense guidelines. Manage the promotion and marketing budget not to exceed expenses unless preapproved by the General Manager. Current inventory of prizes and other giveaways must be documented and up to date. All documentation of how prizes were acquired and given out must be kept current and in contest files. All prizes must have prize sheets and documentation in Promo Suite. Manage all station’s promotional calendars to include ALL station activities: Develop and maintain current comprehensive team calendar and corresponding timeline, employee schedules, and supporting documentation for all sales remotes, club nights, NTR events, and community events where Radio KMYX-Bakersfield is involved. Develop marketing/imaging strategies, trade and non-trade advertising, and all expenditures based on budget for on-air and on the streets marketing to promote the Radio KMYX-Bakersfield station working closely with General Manager and Program Director. Create timeline for events from planning stage to execution to ensure all aspects of event is being executed to be shared 30 days in advance with all department heads, sales team, and promotions team to keep everyone in the loop as to what is expected. Manage all aspects of station’s prizes and contesting both on air and on-site promotional give always, using Promo Suite and Winner Forms to document all winners and prizes. Manage Trade and Trade for Mentions as it applies to prizes secured from sponsors for events and remotes. Plan and coordinate Major Book Promotions from inception to completion working closely with the General Manager and Program Director to include scheduling and coordinating execution of on-air contesting and on the street marketing. Create and produce station special events such as major holidays, Jobs Fairs, and other NTR events in conjunction with selling and ratings growth strategies working closely with management, programming, salespeople, and clients. Ensure that the outside image of all Radio KMYX is always intact, ie. all staff in logo attire and all signage and station presence is displayed to the maximum potential with the resources available. Communicate with Digital Department to ensure that all promotions are properly represented on the website/social media in a timely fashion. ie. if we are starting promos on air for a contest, the contest must be displayed on the website/social media. Develop, create, and brainstorm promotions with sales to ensure that Radio KMYX maintains and increases share of business, with special emphasis on the top 25 local and national accounts. Under promise and over deliver with flawless execution. Return all calls and emails within one business day. Schedule on air promos for station promotions and sales promotions using designated inventory allotted to Promotion Department for sales and station promotions. Recap sales and station promotions within five business days of completion, using designated recap forms for documentation of on-air promos and using photos, videos, web, and other areas to document proof of performance. Generation of new sales through promotional packaging and partnering by developing relationships with community leaders, theme parks, amusement parks, and local entities working with General Manager to assist with information for creation of sponsorable sales packages. Responsible for Community Relations and providing information for Quarterly FCC Community Affairs reporting, this includes all nonprofit fund-raising events and initiatives. Keep up internal communications through daily contact and weekly promotion, department head and promotional department staff meetings. General Manager should be copied on all important communication. Write and distribute PRESS Releases for all newsworthy events and have an active current press list. Develop professional relationships with Press contacts whenever possible. Oversee Promotion Department staff to include but not limited to Promotions Staff, Street Team Members, Public Affairs Director, Community Liaison, Social Media Director in all facets. (Summer interns included) Train staff to execute on and off-air promotions and NTR events and assist with many of the Marketing and Promotion duties as delegated. Create system of accountability to ensure staff job performance is excellent. Protect the company through strict adherence to signed agreements of all station events/promotions, to ensure that all legal requirements are met for client and/or station promotion and marketing events. Adherence to all FCC rules and regulations as well as Radio KUFW regulations regarding contesting to include writing all rules for all contests and ensuring they are posted on the website as well as at applicable client locations and Radio KMYX studios. Adherence to all Radio KMYX rules and procedures regarding regulations and policies. Daily Localisms recorded day/evening prior to airing to include community, client, and station information and to be delivered in professional, yet engaging, manner. Promotions Director reports to General Manager. Wage: $20.00 per hour DOE Benefits include 100% employer paid medical, dental, vision.
