Perfect for anyone looking to make a little extra money on the side! California Highway Adoption Company is looking for reliable, hardworking employees to fill part-time laborer positions. Laborers will ride in a company vehicle to various areas within the city of Bakersfield to remove litter, debris and bulky waste items for disposal at the local refuse facilities. All applicants should be in good physical condition, be capable of walking several miles each day, lifting bulky, heavy items and be willing to submit to drug tests and/or background checks if needed. They also must have a valid social security card and ID. Work will be on an on-call basis to fill in for full-time workers who call out or plan to take time off. Work days will vary, but will fall on Mondays through Fridays, early mornings to mid-afternoons, 8 hours each day of work. Starting pay $16.50 an hour, with a raise after a 60-day probationary period. There is also potential to become full-time in the future if a position opens up.
