The Bakersfield Californian is looking for an outside advertising Sales Account Executive. The position is responsible for marketing and selling opportunities in all products offered by The Bakersfield Californian, including all digital platforms, to both local and out-of-area businesses. Identifies and develops new business opportunities; keeps and grows existing client relationships; offers solutions that help clients achieve their business goals. Close new business while maintaining and growing business with existing clients in order to meet all assigned revenue goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years in media/advertising sales is preferred, but not required.

High school diploma, college degree preferred.

Valid CA driver's license, possess independent transportation and state-mandated auto insurance.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Proven ability to prospect and develop new business.

Possess effective communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.

Ability to grow and maintain strong business relationships.

Independent, self-motivated, competitive, assertive.

Must be well-organized, ability to set priorities, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to understand and communicate market demographics.

Must be able to work in a deadline and driven environment.

Goal oriented and a drive to meet all assigned financial goals.

Professional appearance with strong interpersonal skills.

Billingual is a plus
