Position has Health Insurance, 401K, Vacation pay, Life Insurance and allot of room for growth. the Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a hands-on position, working with the Plant Manager, Superintendent, and Operators to maintain and repair diesel and gas vehicles and equipment. Duties/Responsibilities:Install, adjust and repair production equipment such as: Straddle Cranes, Mixer Trucks, Air Compressors, Man Lifts, Water Trucks, Batch Plant, Concrete Mixer.Ability to read and interpret instructions and operation manuals and follow step by step instructions.Observe equipment and listen to sounds to determine proper functioning or identify cause of trouble.Diesel (up to Tier 4F) and gas engine experience required.Repair/troubleshoot diesel, gas, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.Repair and replace gears, drives, bearing, belts, chains, shafts, etc.Maintain maintenance logs and inspections on all equipment.Maintain repair cost log for all equipment.Weld (ARC, MIG, and Gas Powered) and use cutting torch.Repair electrical hand tools.Operate a variety of hand/power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, and change parts as required.Required Skills/Abilities:Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.Organized with attention to detail.Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, welding, or related fields.Works well independently and with others.Good communication skills, bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Education and Experience:High school diploma / equivalent or equivalent in training, education or experience.Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in trainingExperience, 2 year minimum with Diesel equipment.Physical and Hiring Requirements:Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must have your own tools. Mus be able to pass a physical.Must have a Valid DL and show a DMV report at the interview. Volt is an Equal Opportunity Employer
