Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Specialist in Chatsworth, California. This role is essential in our operations, focusing on procuring items for our business, analyzing industry trends, and ensuring our supplier relations are strong. This position is situated in the manufacturing industry, and the specialist will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities involving Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions and purchasing functions.Responsibilities: Establish strong relationships with suppliers and maintain continuous communication. Conduct research to identify potential suppliers that align with our business needs. Evaluate potential products and suppliers based on key business criteria. Engage in negotiations for purchase terms and conditions after preparing proposals and requesting quotes. Issue purchase orders and agreements in a timely and accurate manner. Monitor the performance of suppliers and address any issues or concerns that arise. Evaluate the quality of purchased items and rectify any shortcomings. Analyze trends in the industry and demand to assist senior management in the development of sourcing strategies. Maintain accurate inventory and procurement records and prepare reports. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards regarding purchasing and sourcing.Requirements Possession of a minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably within a manufacturing setting Proficiency in using ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning software and other related ERP solutions Demonstrable understanding and expertise in buying processes and purchasing functions Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal teams Experience in sourcing and procurement, with a focus on cost-saving strategies Familiarity with the role and responsibilities of a Buyer within a corporate setting Background or knowledge in the manufacturing sector would be advantageous Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
