A leading Auto Group in the Northern California area needs to hire a trustworthy, ethical, responsible, and organized PAYROLL CLERK to assist with the management of employee compensation. You will perform a variety of tasks such as calculating wages, entering payroll information, making payments, and more.An excellent Payroll Clerk understands the importance protecting confidential information. Ideal candidates will be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and will have good math and Excel skills to make necessary calculations. The goal is to carry out all payroll procedures with speed and accuracy.

Responsibilities - Payroll Clerk:
Manage compensation packages using payroll software
Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees
Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime
Calculate bonuses and commissions
Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, etc.
Calculate severance payments
Deal with complaints and questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management
Investigate and resolve any payroll discrepancies
Prepare and submit payroll information reports to supervisor
Qualifications - Payroll Clerk:
At least one year of Payroll Clerk experience is required
Automotive dealership payroll experience is preferred
At least 2 years of accounting experience is preferred
Strong bookkeeping knowledge and general ledger maintenance
Detailed oriented, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and meet deadlines
Must be organized and dependable
Must be able to follow instructions and respond to management direction
Must have strong communication and people skills; both verbal and written
Capable of working independently and in a group setting
Professional appearance is required
