A. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Provides oversight management to the daily operations and transportation of clients to and from North Valley Services programs and worksites.

Plans, organizes and supervises the Transportation services/operations and the vehicle maintenance activities of the agency.

B. SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Works under the supervision of the Director of Day Programs.

C. SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Is responsible to supervise Transportation Administrative Assistant, Drivers, Mechanic, Mechanic Assistant.

D. QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years experience providing direct supervision of individuals in human services delivery system including at least one year in a managerial or supervisory position.

Must be able to demonstrate the ability to supervise staff and coordinate daily vehicle related schedules.

Ability to work independently and efficiently with others.

Ability to collaborate effectively.

Strong writing and communication skills.

Ability to maintain and create data reports and documents using Excel and Microsoft Word.

Current California drivers license, with an acceptable DMV printout and insurability, minimum of a 3 year driving history.

Ability to obtain a Commercial License with passenger endorsements within 6 months of hire date.

Ability to pass a DOJ criminal background check.

Ability to pass CPR and First Aid course.

E. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follows all procedures, policies, and guidelines of North Valley Services.

Provides full operational responsibility of the Transportation Department and assigned staff.

Maintains NVS route schedules to ensure routes are efficient and covered.

Maintains scheduling of routine maintenance visits to keep in compliance with safety requirements and standards.

Maintains internal transportation records and data. Compiles reports as needed.

Maintains Transportation department employee files.

Ensures drivers records and certifications are current.

Coordinates contract development.

Manages regulatory issues for agency compliance.

Performs/conducts monthly drivers meetings and Safety meetings.

Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment for buses to meet safety and compliance regulations.

Performs staff evaluations.

Provides oversight to initial driver orientation and ongoing trainings.

Additional duties as assigned.

May have prolonged use of phone.

May lift up to 30 pounds.

G. STANDARDS FOR MEASURING PERFORMANCE:

Effectiveness in performing the duties and responsibilities described above in a timely manner.
