Structural Engineer

Mathewson & Associates, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates to join our structural engineering team. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. Professional experience with structural/seismic design and analysis is a plus, however we are open to fostering an individual’s career growth while allowing them to build their experience. A successful candidate will possess clear and effective communication skills, a problem-solving mentality, and a desire to collaborate with internal engineers and external clients in the delivery of structural design drawings for a wide range of commercial, educational, and healthcare facilities.

This position is a full-time remote working position with the expectation of a high degree of virtual collaboration with our project team members who are located across California. Excellent compensation with the potential for bonuses is offered to individuals that deliver quality work, add-value to our team and show up daily bringing their A-game.

All required hardware and software are provided; however, the candidate is expected to have a reliable, high-speed internet service connection. The position also requires regular use of the Microsoft Office platform, leveraging Teams to communicate frequently with the project team.

Necessary Credentials:

 Strong desire to provide an exceptional customer experience

 Minimum two (2) or more years of experience preferred

 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, Master’s degree preferred

Critical Responsibilities:

 Complete calculations and drawings for small & medium projects

 Act as project engineer and interact with clients when appropriate

 Coordinate collaboratively across entire Project Team and external disciplines

 Utilize computer design software to prepare design documents

 Construction Administration tasks (i.e. field observation reports, RFI responses, submittal reviews, evaluating change orders)

 Support timely completion of projects

 Accept additional tasks as required to meet specific project requirements

Compensation will be determined relative to skills and experience between $80K - $150K annually.
