Bread Baker and Farmers Market Salesperson Camina Bakery

Camina Bakery is hiring for a part-time position that includes two roles: bread baker and Saturday Sacramento farmers market salesperson. This position includes the opportunity for on-the-job training in bread baking and other aspects of bakery production. We are a small company, and we strive to create a positive work environment centered around respect, teamwork, and enthusiasm for food and high-quality products. Schedule:

Bread Baking:

Tuesday 6:00pm to midnight

Thursday 6:00pm to midnight

Farmers Market:

Saturday 5:00am to 3:30pm

Duties of bread baker:

Baking breads in rack oven and deck oven, including brioche buns, focaccia, and hearth loaves.

Cleaning bakery including dishes, wiping down surfaces, sweeping, and mopping

Prep duties associated with bread production, for example: making sourdough starter, chopping olives, etc

Other Requirements:

This position requires some heavy lifting of up to 50lbs

Reliable transportation

Early morning and night shifts

Requirements/Duties of Farmers Market Salesperson:

Must have clean driving record and comfortable with driving our large delivery van.

This position requires some heavy lifting when loading and unloading the market vehicle

Set up market in half an hour

Farmers markets are year-round, rain or shine. This means being out in the elements. The market representative must take care of themselves in the rain and heat as well as making sure to manage the booth in ways that protect the products from rain or sun.

Operate Square point of sale app with iPad and Bluetooth card reader.

Accept cash and make change.

Complete farmers market invoice worksheet for each market.

Become knowledgeable about products and fluent in communicating with customers about the products, the ingredients, and the processes of making them.

Market Day Schedule:

5:00am Pickup delivery van

5:15 Arrive at bakery to load truck

5:45 Leave for market, drive to Sacramento

7:30 Arrive at Farm Stand in Rancho Cordova for Delivery

8:00 Arrive at Midtown Farmers Market

1:00pm Market end time, pack up market

3:00pm Arrive back at bakery and unload market gear

3:30pm Drop off delivery van

Compensation:

$17 an hour starting wage, regular overtime on Saturday market shift

Employee may trade and/or take home up to three loaves value of product on the day of each market.
