Sacramento Farmers Market Representative & Delivery Driver
Camina Bakery is a local, community-focused bakery that takes pride in creating high-quality baked goods. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Sacramento Farmers Market Representative & Delivery Driver to join our team on a part-time basis. This role involves representing our products at the Sacramento Midtown Farmers Market on Saturdays and making bread deliveries to Sacramento on Tuesdays. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, dependable, and comfortable with customer interaction, physical tasks, and driving.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Setup & Breakdown: Set up and break down the market booth efficiently, ensuring everything is ready for customers within 30 minutes.
Physical Labor: Load and unload market materials and products, which may require heavy lifting.
Weather Preparedness: Farmers markets are year-round, regardless of weather conditions. You must be prepared to work in the rain, heat, and other elements, while also protecting products from the sun or rain.
Point of Sale (POS): Operate the Square point of sale app using an iPad and Bluetooth card reader for sales transactions.
Cash Handling: Accept cash payments and provide accurate change to customers.
Market Documentation: Complete the farmers market invoice worksheet for each market, ensuring accurate tracking of sales and inventory.
Product Knowledge: Become knowledgeable about the products you’re selling, including ingredients and production processes, and communicate this information to customers effectively.
Delivery Driver: As part of the role, you will also be responsible for making bread deliveries to designated locations in Sacramento on Tuesdays. This includes ensuring timely and safe deliveries, unloading bread at each location, and returning the van to the bakery at the end of the day.
Market Day Schedule:
Saturday (Midtown Farmers Market):
4:45 AM: Pickup delivery van
5:00 AM: Arrive at bakery to load truck
5:15 AM: Leave bakery for Sacramento
7:00 AM: Arrive at Farm Stand in Rancho Cordova for delivery
7:30 AM: Arrive at Midtown Farmers Market
1:00 PM: Market end time; begin packing up the booth
3:00 PM: Return to bakery and unload market gear
3:30 PM: Drop off delivery van
Tuesday Bread Deliveries to Sacramento:
5:45 AM: Pickup delivery van
6:00 AM: Arrive at bakery to package orders for the day
7:30 AM: Leave bakery for delivery route to Sacramento
10:00 AM: Arrive at designated delivery locations in Sacramento
2:15 PM: Return to bakery and unload delivery van
2:45 PM: Return van to parking location
Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy items and manage physical tasks involved with market setup and breakdown
Comfort with all types of weather, from heat to rain, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions
Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and provide information about products
Previous experience with Square POS system or similar applications preferred but not required
Clean driving record required and valid driver’s license for deliveries
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility
