Activities Coordinator
(Peer Support Specialist)
This is a position in Chico at the Valley View apartment complex. Reports to a Supervisor. The intended purpose of the position is to facilitate positive and therapeutic social interactions within a living community for persons experiencing mental illness.
Duties:
Participate in preparation and planning of groups, classes and/or social activities
Facilitate and coordinate a weekly community meeting for all residents
Provide peer facilitation to group activities
Maintain data on services provided
Meet with clinical supervisor on a regular basis to discuss progress and concerns about group dynamics
Prepare materials prior to group time
Promote pro-social interactions and conflict resolution among residents
Assist residents with accessing community resources
Provide services in a professional manner
Some clerical assignments (filing, entering data)
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of the Recovery Model
Knowledge of the unique needs of people with mental illness in independent living situations
Positive people & communication skills
Valid driver’s license required
Hours: 10-20 hours per week
Pay: $17.10 per hour
Must pass a DOJ-level live scan.
