Starting Salary Range: $66,560 - $75,000

Example of the Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities
Administer benefit programs such as health, life, FSA, disability insurances, pension plans, PTO, vacation, sick leave, various leave of absence policies, etc.
Process and retain records of benefits plan participation, personnel transactions, and employee statistics for gov't reporting.
Provide HR guidance and resources to clients
Respond to client and employee inquiries regarding Human Resources policies, procedures and programs
Travel to client sites for assistance with various HR issues and support per client request
Manage leaves of absence for clients
Conduct workplace investigations as necessary
Manage WC claims
Respond to agency inquiries regarding state disability, unemployment, Paid Family Leave insurance eligibility, etc.
Assist with payroll administration and respond to client and employee inquiries regarding payroll related issues
Position Requirements – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of California laws as they apply to Labor, Employment, Wage & Hour
Knowledge of personnel practices, policies, and theories to advise client/managers within state and federal guidelines
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and the public
Adaptability: effectively adjust when working with new client processes, requirements, or cultures
Ability to delegate responsibility and authority to staff
Ability to draft reports, compose business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, various agencies, and the general public
Comfortable utilizing cloud based software for maintaining client and employee data
Ability to train on software and troubleshoot software issues/actions as it relates to client and employee needs for payroll and timekeeping technology
Ability to travel to client sites
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business desired
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a California human resources department (higher than assistant level)
One to two (1-2) years' management experience
Demonstrated (and successful) experience within a highly active customer-service role (retail, hospitality, etc.)
Microsoft Office Products, Access, HRIS database and the Internet.
Professional Employer Organization (PEO) experienced desired
PHR/SPHR preferred
Other Qualifications
Valid California Drivers' License, evidence of insurability, and an operational automobile
