Skyway House in Chico is seeking a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (see job outline below) Only certified need apply.
Hours: Full Time, day-shift, Mon-Fri, other shifts/days may occur if needed
Accountability: The Counselor is directly responsible to the Clinical Director.
Basic Function:
The Counselor is responsible for the delivery and documentation of individual client services. These services are provided in a one-on-one and group setting.
Desired Qualifications:
Must be and remain in compliance with all Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) certification requirements at all times. Possess an in-depth understanding of addiction and the 12 core counseling functions. Possess the ability to work independently as well as part of a treatment team. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to keep clear and legible records and charts. Maintain current CPR, First Aid and TB clearance with clean DMV.
Responsibilities:
Group facilitation and client education.
Documentation and record keeping.
Treatment Planning.
Case Management.
One-on-one counseling.
Intakes, assessments, and orientation.
Crisis intervention.
Consultation with other professionals in regard to client treatment/services.
Exit planning and referrals
Transportation of participants when needed.
Adherence to ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
Adherence to all program policies and procedures
