COMPLIANCE AND ASSET MANAGEMENT STAFF with a water authority. This position is located at the Del Oro Water Corporate Offices in Chico, California
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance and Asset Staff Member to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our organization adheres to all regulatory requirements and manages assets effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of compliance standards, asset management practices, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Compliance Monitoring:
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs and procedures.
Track and report on compliance-related issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Keep up-to-date with changes in regulations and ensure the organization’s practices are updated accordingly.
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Assumes and performs other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to the Compliance Department as a whole
Assist administrative staff as required
Asset Management:
Oversee the inventory, acquisition, and disposal of company assets.
Maintain accurate records of asset locations, conditions, and values.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper asset allocation and utilization.
Implement and manage asset tracking systems and tools using company’s asset management software.
Training and Support:
Provide training and support to staff on compliance procedures and asset management best practices.
Act as a point of contact for compliance and asset-related inquiries.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements in compliance and asset management functions.
Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in compliance and asset management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Water Utility Staff is considered a “Critical Infrastructure Disaster Service Worker” during emergency conditions; candidates must live within fifteen (15) minutes travel time of the Corporate Operations Office.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology or a related field.
Proven experience in compliance, asset management, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and asset management practices.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with compliance and asset management software.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
Pass a physical and a drug test.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with compliance management systems and asset tracking tools.
Have minimum 2 years of experience in a similar or related position.
Competent and experienced in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Able to deal with a wide-range of personalities in a professional manner.
Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good conflict resolution skills.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a full-time salaried position, negotiable depending on experience.
