About the Role:
As our Lead Dispatcher, you’ll be at the heart of our daily operations - connecting customers with technicians, optimizing schedules, and ensuring every service call is handled efficiently and professionally. We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Lead Dispatcher to deliver a five star experience when customers call us in need. This role is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, communicates clearly, and enjoys leading a team in a fast-paced service environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary dispatcher owning daily dispatch operations: customer intake, scheduling, job prioritization, route optimization, real-time adjustments, communicating with technicians and management.
Receive and prioritize incoming service requests via phone, email, and online platforms.
Qualify leads with pre-screening questions to ensure calls are for the right services, escalating high-value or urgent opportunities.
Prioritize emergency and same-day service calls while balancing efficiency.
Communicate with technicians to track job progress, ensure efficient routes, confirm job details, and arrange timely arrivals.
Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, conflicts or delays, and escalating to management where needed.
Record accurate job details and customer information, and track operational metrics within our CRM tools (Housecall Pro and Dispatch Me, training provided).
Support the sales cycle by promoting specials and following up on unbooked estimates.
Assist with job compliance and permit management.
Opportunity to improve upon existing dispatch processes and advise on best practices to support future team growth.
Manage invoice generation, collect customer payment information, and follow up on accounts receivable when needed.
Process employee time cards to support Payroll vendor.
Process basic billing documents to support Accounts Payable vendor.
Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Additional opportunities to support the Director of Business Development in driving marketing and brand strategy, Google Ads campaigns, and creating scalable systems for a growing company.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications preferred.
2+ years of dispatch experience (home services or plumbing industry preferred), or 4+ years of transferable work experience.
Excellent communication, proactive thinking, and positive, can-do attitude.
Familiarity with the geography of our service area is a plus, but not required; a willingness to learn is most important (Chico, Redding, Chester, Yuba City, Grass Valley, etc.).
Ability to use multi-line phones, Google tools, and CRM systems (training provided for Housecall Pro and Dispatch Me)
Organized, composed, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to pass a background check.
Compensation:
Hourly pay range between $21-26, based on experience and qualifications
