Service and Installation Driver Overview
As a Service and Installation Driver you will work as a member of a team to deliver products or equipment to customers. Service and Installation Drivers are responsible for all aspects of the delivery process, such as the safe driving of the delivery vehicle, loading and unloading the truck, interacting with customers, filling out paperwork to record deliveries, and coaching and leading their assigned service and installation assistant. This is a fast-paced, outdoor position that requires the ability to continually lift items and carry packages that can weigh in excess of 75 pounds. Early starts and late finishes are common with this job, and people in this role often work weekends and holidays to cover busy periods. Applicants for this role should have excellent physical fitness, great customer service skills, and the ability to multitask and adhere to tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to)
Work as a member of a delivery team to effect high quality deliveries on behalf of the client
Thorough product knowledge to include carrying and maneuvering product as well as the proper assembly and installation of product as required
Ensure thorough and effective communication with customers and delivery office throughout each delivery route
Take responsibility of all aspects of the delivery route performance as well as responsibility for supervising, leading, and coaching of the service and installation assistant
At all times work as part of the team to ensure the highest standards of customer and client service are achieved
Must wear a clean uniform each day to include ID badge as required
Must keep a record of HOS in DOT logbook
Daily Pre-Trip and Post Trip Inspection of vehicle including checking vehicle fluids
Requirements
High School diploma and equivalent experience
Knowledge of consumer appliance delivery and installation
Valid Driver’s License
Knowledge of DOT compliance
Flexible Schedule - Must be able to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
Handle all needs of the customers
Integrity in all things
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have at least 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles
