HAMRE EQUIPMENT IS LOOKING FOR A HEAVY HAUL DRIVER!
We are looking for an EXPERIENCED low bed driver familiar with hauling heavy equipment & large machines (oversized/overweight loads/legal loads/local and long distance). We haul everything from small forklifts, to yard spotters, to logging equipment, to construction equipment to large container handlers (that are 3-4 truckloads minimum to move each container handler). On rare occasions, we will haul agricultural harvesting equipment but it is few and far between. We run 2017 & 2018 KENWORTH Trucks with Cozad and Murry Trailers. We have 8 Axle, 9 Axle, Low Boy, 16 Tire, Air Tail, RGN Double Drop & Step Deck trailers. You will have one truck assigned to you as your main truck to drive but will share the trailers with the other driver at the office.
We would like you to have experience driving long haul, permitted loads, heavy loads, oversized/overwidth loads. We would like you to have experience or a general knowledge on how to operate the machinery you are loading as most times you will be unloading or loading on your own and will have to operate the equipment. We need you to be able to safely, & reliably load/unload equipment & chain it down without damage to the equipment or the truck or trailer while you are on your own. We would like a minimum of 5 years of heavy haul experience, but still, apply if you have less than 5 years. As long as you have the experience we will consider you. We require weekly paperwork & load paperwork to be done on time & neatly.
We prefer that you live in or near Chico & its surrounding areas for this position. Within a 30-45 minute drive radius max as sometimes we get a short notice to haul a piece of equipment & need you to come in. Or be willing to move to this area for the position.
We work frequently with the ports & an army base where the TWIC card is required to enter. We also deliver equipment to sawmills, construction sites, & more.
This is for a full-time position. Clean DMV, Class A license & TWIC card are all required, but if you do not have a TWIC we can assist you in getting it at your expense. Hazmat is not required. There WILL be nights & weekends & non-major holidays away from home & family.
We run the majority of the lower 48 states but primarily WA, OR, CA, NV, TX, MS, & along with that southern route. We do not go into Canada or Mexico. If you are bilingual that is a bonus but not required. Pay is DOE. Pay rates/scale depends on the load. If a local load it is hourly pay or flat rate pay & if it is a long haul load it is by the mile, if you end up working around the shop & not driving on any given workday it is hourly pay.
