Description Our client is a well-established financial firm seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join their team for the upcoming tax season. We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to handle a significant volume of tax return preparation tasks for our clients during tax season. The successful individual will have a strong understanding of tax codes, the ability to identify potential tax credits and liabilities, and ensure accurate and complete returns are filed in a timely manner.Key Responsibilities:
Gather all necessary paperwork for tax preparation (income, expenses, etc.)
Compute taxes owed or overpaid, using the appropriate forms and references.
Complete tax return forms.
Check data input or verify total on forms prepared by others to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures.
Consult tax law references to determine procedures for preparation of atypical returns.
Interview clients to obtain additional information on taxable income and deductible expenses and allowances.
Requirements
Previous work experience as a Tax Preparer.
Degree in Accounting or Finance would be advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail.
Exceptional mathematical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal tax laws.
Up-to-date with the latest tax changes and laws.
Comfortable interacting with clients and the IRS if needed.
Familiarity with tax preparation software will be a plus.
