This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Corona, California region. Responsibilities include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This position is for candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals Requirements - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)
Well-founded grasp of percentage (%) of completion
Comprehensive knowledge of Month-end Close Activities
Proven knowledge of Job Cost
Financial statement preparation experience preferred
Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)
ADP - Payroll experience highly desired
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
CPA or MBA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
