Description We are offering a short-term contract role for a Collector I to join our team based in Costa Mesa, California. This role primarily involves handling customer inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and processing customer applications. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to have a strong understanding of the revenue cycle processes, from patient access through patient financial services, including procedures and policies.Responsibilities: Evaluate claims at the contract rate using the contract management tool for proper pricing. Review and initiate the initial appeal for underpayments observing all timely requirements. Complete assigned accounts within assigned work queues. Work with insurance companies, government payors, and/or patients for resolution of payments and accounts. Review and complete payor and/or patient correspondence in a timely manner. Escalate to the payor and/or patient accounts that need to be appealed due to improper billing, coding and/or underpayments. Document all calls and actions taken in the appropriate systems. Establish a payment arrangement when patients are unable to pay in full at the time payment is due. Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate customer credit records.Requirements Must possess excellent customer service skills Knowledge of various procedures and policies related to the role Experience in payment processing and billing functions Understanding of cash activity and its review process Familiarity with time management and medical coverage policies Knowledge of pricing strategies and benefit functions Experience in billing and collection processes Ability to handle correspondence and claim administration Understanding of clinical trial operations and consumer electronics Coding skills would be an added advantage Must have experience in obtaining authorizations Familiarity with different methodologies used in the role Experience in dealing with insurance companies and understanding reimbursements Knowledge of Medicare policies and regulations Experience in handling appeals and patient accountsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
