Description We are seeking a Patient Access Specialist to join our team based in Covina, California. This role involves substantial interaction with patients, particularly concerning their Medi-Cal applications. The Patient Access Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting patients navigate the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) system, safeguarding confidential patient records, and staying informed about the latest state and federal regulations related to Medi-Cal and other relevant health programs. This position is a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Carry out eligibility and other related duties in the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) system. Supervise the completion and management of Medi-Cal applications for patients while navigating through the DPSS system. Assess eligibility criteria and facilitate the enrollment process for identified prospective patients. Provide comprehensive guidance to patients in determining their insurance needs and advising on suitable health programs. Keep meticulous patient records and ensure the privacy of their medical data. Communicate effectively with internal and external constituents to deliver seamless service to patients. Keep informed about the latest developments in state and federal regulations related to Medi-Cal and other relevant health programs. Arrange educational sessions and workshops about the importance of health coverage and the process of obtaining it. Cultivate and maintain meticulous knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in societies.
