Our client is in need of a Cyber Security Engineer. This can be a remote or on-site long-term contract opportunity with a globally recognized brand. They are a well-established, yet growing and dynamic organization with a passion for its outstanding recreational use and outdoor products.

Duration: 6 month contract (Possibility of extension)
Location: Orange County, CA (Remote or Onsite)

What You Will Do:

- Lead efforts to counter security breaches and anticipating and reducing the likelihood of future security alerts, incidents, and disasters.
- Defining, planning, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading security measures, policies, and controls.
- Writing reports and providing insights on the efficacy of the current security policies, incident responses, disaster recovery plans, and other security-related information.
- Assisting with the creation of updates and training programs to secure the network and train the employees.
- Monitoring security access and maintaining the relevant data.
- Develop scripts, use tools, and procedures to automate scans, assessments, and other monitoring and discovery activities.
- Conducting vulnerability testing and risk analyses to assess security and performing internal and external security audits.
- Analyzing security breaches to identify the cause and to update incidence responses and disaster recovery plans.
- Analyze IT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of IT security requirements
- Test and evaluate new technology.
- Reviews violations of security procedures; provides training to ensure violations do not recur.
- Provide suggestions security best practices for employees and end users.
- Research upcoming trends in information technology and security, stay updated on potential threats and attacks, and come up with preventive strategies.

Job Requirements:

- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, programming, or related field.
- 3-5 years' experience in the field, such as security administration.
- Proficient, or able to gain proficiency with, a broad array of security software applications and tools.
- Experienced with penetration testing and techniques.
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities.
- Thorough understanding of computer-related security systems including firewalls, IDPS concepts, endpoint security, encryption, and password protection and authentication.
- Understanding and background with Intrusion Detection Systems and SIEM products.
- Background in Incident Response.
- Knowledge and understanding of application security.
- Experienced in installing security software and documenting security issues.
- Comfortable working with all types of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, iOS, Android etc.
- Advanced training certifications may be advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal, and teaching skills.
- Good anticipation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to remain current on the latest technology and best practices in information security.
