Function/Team Summary

The Core Processing Platform is an integral and important component across Visa products. The platform forms the foundation of our core business and allows us to deliver global scale and capture new volume across a variety of payment flows and value-added services.

The Core Processing Platform team is responsible for the enablement of our core processing assets to address processing opportunities for a variety of markets and new payment flows, while working to fulfill the following areas of focus:

Fortify our business by evolving our best-in-class platforms to be more flexible, efficient and differentiated, enabling us to capture incremental payment flows

Grow penetration and revenue, both in our existing portfolio of payment flows and value added services, as well as investment in new payment flows and value added services built on top of our core platforms

Partner with our clients and our product and solutions teams, empowering them with scalable capabilities so that we can deliver great products and solutions for Visa’s clients and customers

Job Description/Essential Functions

We are seeking an Intern who can help identify critical growth initiatives in a complex, matrixed environment. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, structured, analytical thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in how products are developed and delivered. S/he enjoys variety and collaborating with people. S/he has a growth mindset. S/he is thoughtful, curious and analytical with a desire to make an impact.

The Intern will support in product management activities including researching markets, analyzing problems, evaluating solutions, and working with technology and cross-functional teams to build and deploy solutions.

The Intern will have the opportunity to work on a diverse set of initiatives: Enhancements across domestic network, core processing infrastructure, transaction processing rules, Compliance and related areas.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with a graduation date between December 2022and August 2023
  • 3.0 minimum GPA (out of 4.0 scale, or the equivalent)
  • Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Curious with a growth mindset
  • Support the team on various aspects of product management to drive Visa’s domestic processing activities
  • Understand and able to research market trends, competition, and user requirements (primary and secondary research methods)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal Visa teams e.g., regional teams, technology, client services, other Visa product teams, risk, and other applicable groups) to define and execute a cohesive strategy related to a specific product or feature
  • Work closely with manager to understand the problem and actively collaborate with the immediate and extended teams to identify, document and gain alignment on solution
  • Successfully apply structured and critical thinking to ambiguous problems (small, fast-moving initiatives or large, multi-dependency initiatives).
  • Use data to prove or disprove hypotheses and inform solutions set

Travel Requirements:This position requires travel5-10% of the time.
