Denham Resources is thrilled to partner with our client, a well-established, family-owned business, in their search for a Senior Tax Accountant. This role is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional to join the internal tax department and work closely with the accounting management team, including the President, Controller, and other financial team members.
Description
-Tax return preparation for various company entities, including partnerships, corporations, and trusts, as well as other individuals
-Responsible for tax services including quarterly and annual reporting, maintain fixed asset inventory and depreciation schedules, property tax return preparation, and other regulatory reporting/compliance services as necessary or required
Coordinating various planning cycles and strategies, including annual planning and projections
Analyzing business transactions and opportunities proposed by management
Assist with review of general ledgers and entry postings as part of monthly or annual year end closes
Responsible to stay current with changes and updates to tax laws and regulations
-Resolve routine to complex accounting and tax issues as needed
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
Must be a CPA with minimum four years of public accounting experience in tax compliance
Experience with tax preparation and planning for complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns
Proficient at tax research, and strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with managers, staff and appropriate government agencies
Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Strong attention to detail and technical/analytical skills, with ability to be proactive and take ownership of projects and meet all required deadlines
