Project Engineer Job Description

Job Summary

The Project Manager's role is responsible for monitoring projects and maintaining project files and coordinating work between the field and shop team. The Project Engineer reports to the President/Owner. Monitoring and coordinating project work with the team members, maintaining accurate project files, establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all stakeholders, and being a productive team member are key factors to success in this position. This position is non-exempt.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Abilities

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business Administration or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating.

Ability to read architectural, structural and landscaping plans.

Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Bluebeam, Procure,

PlanGrid, Dropbox and The Box.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.

Analytical, formulate and articulate request for information (RFIs) and relevant work product

questions and problem-solving skills with general contractors.

Knowledge of industry safety practices.

Ability to provide courtesy service to external and internal customers.

Effective member of the team.

Duties and responsibilities

Review and evaluate cost estimates.

Prepare estimates, change and purchase orders in detail for all products.

Prepare schedule of values.

Ensure timely completion of estimates manage bid pricing from all vendors.

Prepare cost analysis and establish and maintains positive relationships with vendors and

subcontractors or any other internal or external customer.

Solicit quote request to suppliers and vendors.

Place material and rental orders and coordinate delivery.

Prepare documents to request shop drawings submittals from detailer.

Assist in preparing cost breakdown, reviewing bid costs and contracts.

Respond to project related emails received on the company email address.

Maintain project job board.

Occasionally help with telephones.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related team tasks.

Must always have a valid California driver's license and be insurable through Turner

Manufacturing Company, Inc.'s insurance company to travel for the company

Frequently required to sit in a chair at a desk and type on a keyboard and answer telephones

Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision and ability to adjust

focus

Occasionally can lift to 10 pounds

Occasionally make trips to jobsites outside the office

Occasionally can work extended hours
