Construction Site Worker Job Description
Time commitment - Part Time
29 hours a week.
Saturday mornings required
Safety responsibilities
Attend weekly tailgate safety meeting.
Learn, practice, and enforce OSHA and State of California construction safety regulations.
Report any injuries to supervisor within 24 hours of occurrence.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (as designated by OSHA regulations) while working on the job site.
Conduct daily equipment safety check.
Job Site Maintenance
Maintain job site environment in accordance with Habitat for Humanity Fresno Countys mission and philosophy.
Roll out chords and required equipment daily.
Clean up equipment and chords daily.
Organize and maintain cleanliness of job site sea-trains.
Complete all other duties as assigned by the Senior Construction Site Supervisor and Construction Site Supervisor.
Volunteer Engagement
Co-labor with volunteers each Saturday on the construction site.
Teach and coach novice construction site volunteers in building trades.
Communicate with Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteer Experience Coordinator regarding volunteer engagement.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, & personal characteristics Knowledge-
Familiarity with general principles of construction preferred
Familiarity with OSHA guidelines preferred
Familiarity with common construction tools and their purposes
Skills-
Basic computer skills
Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills
Hammer skills
Read a tape measure
Safely use power tools associated with construction trades
Interpersonal skills
Communication skills
Abilities-
Take direction from Habitat for Humanity Fresno County Staff.
Abide by the 50% work and 50% fun rule when working with volunteers.

Provide feedback to volunteers and homeowners in a friendly yet constructive way.

Lift minimum of 60 lbs.
Stand for extended periods of time.
Work in non-temperature-controlled environment. Exposure to heat, cold, wind, rain, and fog likely.

Reach or lift above shoulder level.
Willingness to be exposed to loud noise.
Work on roof or scaffolds.
