Job Description:
Field Marketing Representative for Startup - Part-Time A well-funded, rapidly growing Silicon Valley startup is looking for its first Field Marketing Representative. Responsibilities include:
Identify high traffic areas in target cities across Northern California and hang up posters and other promotional materials there (after receiving permission form the owners where appropriate)
Go door to door in targeted areas introducing homeowners to our service and booking appointments for an in-depth consultation with them
Represent the company at events and booths e.g. at local farmers markets including identifying suitable events & coordinating the campaign
Attend scheduled meetings and phone calls with home owners to talk them through our service
Provide reporting on all your activities and be proactive with improvement suggestions
In the future: Help us scale the field marketing department to multiple locations and representatives
Who we are looking for:
Motivated self-starter with positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Not afraid of hearing ‘no’, can ‘think on their feet’ to come up with answers and rebuttals to concerns but also understands the difference between appropriate and too pushy/aggressive sales tactics
Experience doing sales, promotional/brand ambassador work, or similar
Can work autonomously and be trusted to represent the company well and hussle without constant oversight
Someone familiar with the area of NoCal, especially smaller, residential cities
Tech savvy and comfortable talking about technology and startups
Absolute must-have: Reliable transportation (car) to get to the job sites
Preferred but not required: Knowledge of fire safety, home hardening, defensible space etc
