Position Overview: As a Yard Associate & Security Team Member, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the organization and safety of our trucking yard during the afternoon hours. This position combines general yard duties with essential security responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct trucks to proper loading/unloading areas.
Organize and maintain the yard to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Perform periodic inspections of the yard, vehicles, and equipment.
Monitor and control access to the yard, ensuring only authorized personnel enter.
Record and report any irregularities or security breaches.
Assist drivers with yard-related inquiries and provide clear directions.
Perform minor maintenance or cleaning tasks as needed.
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely vehicle dispatches.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a trucking yard or similar environment is preferred but not required.
Ability to work in varied weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Basic understanding of vehicle operations and safety standards.
Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, and standing for extended periods.
Security experience or certifications are a plus.
Dependable and punctual with excellent communication skills.
Sit down forklift experience preferable
Must have valid California driver’s license
