Job Title: Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver

Job Summary:

As a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments, dialysis treatments, rehabilitation sessions, and other healthcare-related destinations. Your primary objective is to ensure that patients reach their destinations on time and in a comfortable, courteous, and safe manner.

Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate and maintain a designated NEMT vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.

2. Assist patients in boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.

3. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, including courteous and respectful communication at all times.

4. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior, ensuring a hygienic environment for passengers.

5. Follow prescribed routes and schedules, while also being flexible to accommodate any unexpected changes or delays.

6. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and coordinators to report any issues, delays, or changes in schedule.

7. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

8. Assist patients with mobility aids and equipment as needed, ensuring their safe transport.

9. Monitor and address any potential safety hazards during transportation, such as inclement weather or road conditions.

Qualifications:

1. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

2. Previous experience in transportation, preferably in a healthcare or NEMT setting.

3. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

4. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.

5. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

6. Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

7. Ability to lift and maneuver patients with mobility aids, as required.

8. Familiarity with local roadways and traffic patterns.

9. Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required by regulations and company policy.

10. High school diploma or equivalent.
