Supply Chain Supervisor

Description Position Summary:Represented by Robert Half, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing all supply chain services, including the coordination and progression of material through the production system, purchasing and procurement, production scheduling and control, stockroom and shipping functions, and product cost estimation and planning. This role entails reporting financial information on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, as well as submitting capital purchases and significant proposed actions for approval, and handling special projects as required.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead all reengineering efforts related to supply chain management, planning, and execution systems.

Utilize data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting tools to forecast supply and material needs across the organization.

Monitor developments within in-country and external markets to source materials and meet current/future supply chain needs.

Supervise the creation of materials requirements plans and forecasts using established tools and methods.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators and metrics for supply chain planning and forecasting; enact changes based on findings.

Develop and, if necessary, implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to achieve risk management goals.

Facilitate, lead, and support all supplier relationships, periodically conducting supplier capability assessments.

Regularly report on supply chain performance to the executive team, Plant Manager, and other stakeholders.

Seek and establish ways to further align the supply chain unit with the organization's financial revenue goals.

Ensure that all reporting structures are well-established and blend with logistics activities, as well as freight and supply chain initiatives.

Maintain strict control over materials' inventory levels to meet internal and external demand for products.

Manage an annual budget or capital investment plan for supply chain functions across the organization.

Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take appropriate action.

Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels.

Supervise a team of supply chain employees, including hiring, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and termination.

Requirements

University degree in business, with a focus on supply chain management, inventory control, manufacturing, or materials management.

· 5 or more years of direct work experience in a supply chain management or forecasting position. · Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and transportation management. · Direct knowledge of disaster recovery plans and other business continuity strategies, as it relates to the supply chain. · Familiarity with Visual Manufacturing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and/or other material requirements planning (MRP) software. · Demonstrated understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts and theories. · Advanced procurement and supplier negotiation abilities. · Familiar with enterprise-level track-and-trace systems, as well as implementation experience. · Hands-on experience with shipping, logistics, distribution, receipt management, vendor performance appraisal, and vendor return systems. · Experience or accreditation with Six Sigma is highly desirable. · Good financial and business awareness. · Superior analytical abilities and problem solving skills. · Excellent project management and teambuilding skills. · Knowledge of electronic data interchange (EDI) translation and transmission. · Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team.
