Break Even Beermakers is looking to hire a General Manager to help run our multifaceted beermaking project in Amador City, CA, a small rustic town nestled near the Sierra Foothills wine region in Gold Country. We are an hour east of Sacramento and an hour south of Kirkwood / South Lake Tahoe.
Break Even Beermakers is the backbone of a small, holistic, food and drink experience. The Break Even project includes a small cottage-industry brewery, a tasting room at the Amador City Tavern, and a bistro / cafe space in downtown Amador City. We are actively developing a hopyard, orchard, and gardens that will supply ingredients to the brewery and restaurant. We also aim to be a hub for outdoor activity in the region (think a place to start and end a bike ride, hike or day on the river). The vision is a comprehensive food & drink experience that's in touch with the land and local community something special that lasts a very long time.
The project is fully funded and we are a few years into development. We are currently making beer and the tasting room is open to the public on weekends. The production brewery and bistro / cafe space (located across the street from the tasting room) are in development and projected to launch in early 2022. The hopyard and orchard infrastructure is built and plants are in the ground. We are approaching an exciting stage of the project with these various components all going live soon.
We are seeking an experienced manager to help us grow through this inflection point and realize our vision. This person will work alongside ownership to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, create an inclusive and progressive beer space, and oversee multiple departments (tasting room, brewery, food program, hopyard & orchard) to bring continuity to these interdependent functions and teams.
We have a hunch that a manager from the hotel industry would be a good fit, considering they have managed across departments and teams (bar, restaurant, rooms etc.) and we similarly have multiple interdependent facets (farm, tavern, brewery, restaurant) that need cohesion.
