Job Summary:
Fat and the Moon is a made-to-order, herbalist-formulated self-care brand dedicated to creating high-quality, handcrafted products. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented team member to support our Making Team and help keep the potion-making process running smoothly.
In this role, you will assist with a variety of tasks across the Making, Receiving, and Ordering departments, ensuring that production stays organized and efficient. You will work closely with the Making Team to prepare ingredients, fill and package products, maintain inventory, and support overall workflow. Strong communication skills are essential, as this position requires coordinating with multiple departments to track supplies, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
This is a hands-on role that involves physical work, repetitive tasks, and attention to detail. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to a small team.
Responsibilities:
Perform daily cleaning and upkeep tasks, including washing maker dishes and production equipment
Maintain an organized and clean workspace (trash removal, wiping down surfaces, managing cardboard and bins)
Keep cleaning supplies, soaps, and packaging materials stocked
Prep and fill shakers, sample pouches, and ingredient bulk bins (oils, oxides, etc.)
Use industrial sifters and grinders to process ingredients such as seaweed, arrowroot, and myrrh
Conduct quality control checks on ingredients and packaging
Maintain house stock of jars, tins, bottles, tops, and other packaging for makers
Monitor and update ingredient and packaging inventory weekly via whiteboard
Assist with batching, labeling, and stickering backstock
Support Receiving, Making, and Shipping departments as needed
Communicate with all departments regarding low or damaged stock
Occasionally run errands for minimal supply shopping
Assist in filling finished products, with a focus on powders
Qualifications:
Ability to lift and move materials up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods
Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and accuracy
Valid California driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, listening to team needs and acting accordingly
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
