JOB TITLE: Material Handler/Shop Laborer
EMPLOYER: Global Precision Manufacturing LLC
DEPARTMENT: Machine Shop
REPORTS TO: Shop Floor Supervisor
SUMMARY: Performs a combination of tasks including but not limited to receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and in a timely manner; efficiently and safely loads, unloads, and conveys materials.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives, locates, and transfers materials accurately and in a timely manner.
Opens containers utilizing hand tools as needed; counts and weighs materials and records information.
Responsible for cleaning, packaging, assembling, shipping & receiving parts as needed.
Identifies damaged materials and records material shortages.
Loads and unloads materials onto and from a variety of containers including but not limited to forklift, pallet jacks, dolly, racks, pallets, and/or trays; utilizes appropriate tools to accomplish task.
Transports incoming and outgoing materials to designated areas utilizing appropriate tools/vehicles to accomplish task including but not limited to forklift, pallet jacks, dolly, racks, pallets, and/or trays.
Assists machine operators as needed by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.
Stacks and assembles materials.
Saw operations and light machining.
Maintains a safe, clean working environment.
Participates in quality improvement efforts.
Performs required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
One to two years related experience or equivalent.
Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods.
Forklift certified (certification can be provided by employer)
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
