Administrative & Member Services Specialist

The El Dorado County Farm Bureau is looking to fill our office position. This is a part-time position and does NOT require that you be in the office all the time. However, you must be able to commute to our Placerville office to cover some of the responsibilities on a scheduled basis.

Position Summary

The Administrative & Member Services Specialist provides essential support in two key areas: (1) administrative and financial management, and (2) member services and event coordination. This mid-level role ensures the smooth operation of office functions, accurate financial record-keeping, and effective member engagement. The position is part-time, with the potential to expand into a full-time role as organizational needs grow.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative & Finance

Handle accounts payable and receivable; maintain accurate financial records.

Assist with budget preparation, reporting, and reconciliations.

Provide HR support including payroll processing and onboarding.

Manage office operations, supplies, vendor relationships, and compliance.

Set up meeting and event spaces, including logistics and A/V needs.

Member Services & Events

Process and track membership dues; maintain member records.

Serve as a point of contact for member inquiries and engagement.

Plan, organize, and support workshops, networking activities, and special events.

Assist with legislative meetings, grassroots advocacy, and outreach.

Coordinate and promote fundraising and community events.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field preferred.

3+ years of experience in office administration, financial support, member services, or event planning.

Familiarity with QuickBooks, Excel, or comparable accounting and membership database systems.

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

Compensation and Schedule

Part-time role (approx. 20 hours per week), with potential for expansion to full-time.

Compensation: DOE.

Flexible schedule; some evening or weekend work required for events.
