Electrical Estimator/Project Manager

Well established electrical contractor providing Commercial, Industrial & Underground electrical services in the Sacramento region and Sierra Nevada Foothills. With over 60 years of experience, we have developed a reputation for providing quality electrical services at a fair price with honest and dependable service for our clients.

We are in search of a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our team as an Electrical Estimator/Project Manager for current and future work opportunities. The ideal candidate will fill a key role within our organization and will oversee projects from the beginning to end. The Electrical Estimator/Project Manager will work primarily on site, assisting and reporting to the General Manager. They will interpret technical documents as they relate to project estimating, prepare estimates, pre-construction planning, budgeting, procurement, construction, testing, training, and project completion. The Electrical Estimator/Project Manager will work numerous facets of any given project including: reviewing solicitations, estimating, contract negotiation, pre-construction coordination, purchase orders and subcontracts, submittals, construction, scheduling, RFIs, change orders, testing and training to ensure high quality of work at a job site. They will plan, schedule, adjust, and maintain timelines in a fast-paced construction environment while maximizing resources and optimizing budgets.

Responsibilities will include:

Review solicitations, analyze blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work.

Prepare estimates, calculate the cost of major materials, minor materials, subcontracted work, labor and prepare accurate estimates.

Negotiate with suppliers & vendors to get the best prices on materials and subcontracted work.

Create proposal including scope of work and submit competitive bids for projects.

Keep cost databases up to date to reflect changing material and labor costs.

Supervise all aspects of projects construction from beginning to end including document review, pre-planning, coordinating with purchasing, manpower projections and scheduling, construction activities, on time delivery of projects and project close out.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, local, state, and federal regulations.

Oversee field labor forces on assigned projects.

Monitor field costs including materials, subcontractors and other job expenses to the project budget.

Attend field meetings as required to communicate with the project team and supervise project progress.

Manage and resolve any issues that arise during the project.

Maintain clear and accurate project documentation and records.

Develop long-term relationships with customer, sub-contractors and other trades by meeting and exceeding expectations

Additional duties as required to successfully complete the job

The candidates must have prior experience managing large commercial electrical construction projects. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate with:

5+ years of Electrical Estimating experience including Public and Private Works projects of all sizes.

5+ years of Electrical Project Management experience including Public and Private Works projects of all sizes.

Technical understanding of electrical systems and working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Title 24.

High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently as well as with a team.

Estimating experience using commercial estimating software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Knowledge of and experience with managing field labor.
